Want to learn to play the drums?
With over 12 years of playing drums in a whole host of different environments, from local bars and clubs to state of the art 5 star cruise ships James has vast experience and knowledge of playing the drums.
James teaches a very wide variety of styles to all ages, on a one to one basis with well structured lessons adapted to suit the individual needs of the student keeping a fun approach at all times. Students having never played drums before can expect to be playing simple drum patterns by the end of the first lesson. From there students can develop their skills and hone their own playing styles with various options including: stylistic vocabulary, click track playing, rudiments, music theory and reading, technique and posture, timekeeping and soloing aswell as good unbiased advice.
Even beginners without a kit of their own are welcome, and lessons can give be a good idea to see if the student takes to the drums well and enjoys it before going to the expense of buying a drum kit.
For those who want to take drum grades, James has experience with the Rock School Syllabus, alternatively if you just want to learn to play like your favourite drummer, bring in your cd’s and he’ll have you playing like your idols in no time!
Drums can often be a difficult instrument to accommodate, James is always willing to give friendly unbiased advice regarding all aspects of drumming and drum equipment. See the “Student Area” above for more information.
