My professional career started in 2001 when after years of college and bar work I joined a band who regularly performed as a dance band on cruise ships. Within a few weeks of joining we were leaving the UK in a cold January, flying off to Miami to join our first ship which was Royal Caribbean’s Enchantment of the Seas. From there I got the bug for travelling and performing and went on to spend the next five years seeing the world working on various cruise lines, ferries and hotels in Ibiza.

After years of working abroad I returned the UK in 2006 and started teaching drums professionally, I also started getting a lot of work working as a dep (deputy) drummer for many wedding and party bands. After a short while myself and a friend started a wedding and function band in partnership called The Rhythm Junkies. We were highly successful and gigged all over the country. I realised how much I enjoyed running a wedding and function band, a few years later I started my own band called The Smooth Criminals and that’s still going strong today. We’ve now been together for seven years and we’re getting busier and busier, most years we play around 70 weddings, corporate functions and private parties.

I currently teach private lessons from my home studio in Kingsbury as well as at three local schools: CTC Kingshurst Academy, The Coleshill School and The Queen Elizabeth Academy in Atherstone.
